BIOGRAPHY
Kyle Han (b. 2002) is a Chinese Canadian composer whose work blends orchestral and contemporary elements to create immersive and emotionally resonant musical experiences. Born in Alberta and raised in Vancouver, he was introduced to music at an early age through piano lessons before expanding to drum set, electric bass, and upright bass.
Very quickly, he developed a strong desire not just to learn and perform, but to create. There was something about the soundtracks from his favourite films and video games that drew him deeply into the world of composition. While many of his peers listened to pop or lo-fi playlists while studying, Kyle often chose grand, cinematic scores. They made everyday moments feel larger, as if even writing an essay could carry the weight of saving the world.
He began formal composition training at age 14 and discovered a level of clarity and purpose unlike anything he had experienced before. In 2021, Kyle's long time dream of studying at the Berklee College of Music came to fruition! There, he met many extraordinary individuals from all over the world who each continue to inspire him in their own way. Through these experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for collaboration and the endless creative possibilities that emerge when passionate people share ideas. Being so surrounded be art and culture as he was, Kyle decided to reconnect deeper with his own Chinese roots. Since then, music and philosophy from cultures all around the world have shaped his music in many ways.
As of today, Kyle Han's work has been performed at great venues such as the "Bell Center for Performing Arts" in British Colombia and the "Berklee Performance Center" in Boston MA. He is currently chasing his dreams composing for independent films and video games in development. Above all else, Kyle hopes to continue connecting and creating along side passionate artist and build strong long lasting relationships not just as collaborators, but as close friends brought together by their love for their work.
